Updates and some product placement.

Okay so my little project BlogTour.org is up and running. I just added automatic notifications to make it a little more useful. If you have a book that you’ve written and are selling or if you have a blog and you would like to have authors stop by and help you produce some content, please go sign up.

And now for some product placement.

I’ve always had a hard time focusing when I sit down to write. I want to constantly check my email, fart around on twitter, or imbibe in any one of a number of internet distractions. A long time ago I started using WriteMonkey to help me combat distractions. I still love WriteMonkey and it is still my go-to text only app.

However, when I really need to just sit and focus and get in the groove, I need something more aggressive. Something that will grab me by the throat and force me to keep writing. I need WriteOrDie. A year or so ago I used the online version and thought it was great. I played with it a few times and it provides just the right incentive for me to keep writing. This last week, I found out the creator, Dr. Wicked has built a desktop edition. I shelled out the $10 and bought it. Let me tell you, it’s fantastic. When I turn it on, it’s gets me in the writing grove faster than about anything else I’ve tried. So, yeah, I’ll definitely have a chapter this week.

Great stuff. Used the password recovery as you suggested, added a blog, and enabled notifications. Can’t wait to see what else happens!
